PITTSBURG, Kan. — Truman State University (2-6) beat Missouri Southern (3-5) 28-30, 16-25, 25-18, 25-14, and 17-15 in volleyball Friday at John Lance Arena.
Truman State dropped the first two sets, then won the next three. Jessie Julius, of Truman State, sparked a late run in the third set. Truman State pulled away in the fourth, and Laci Neece, of Truman State, closed the fifth on a kill from Autumn Erickson, of Truman State, after a 15-15 tie.
Neece, of Truman State, had 20 kills. Julius, of Truman State, had 18 kills, Erickson, of Truman State, had 13, and Elise Gibson, of Truman State, had 11. Tori Creason, of Truman State, had 56 assists and 16 digs. Addy Janssen, of Truman State, had 29 digs, and Neece, of Truman State, had 15.
Addysen Alvis, of Missouri Southern, had 22 kills and five aces. Tiana Simmons, of Missouri Southern, had 19 kills, and Grace Gardner, of Missouri Southern, had 12 kills and four blocks. Brenna Weaver, of Missouri Southern, had 51 assists. Reagan Ashby, of Missouri Southern, had 24 digs.
Truman State hit .281 to Missouri Southern's .249 and outscored Missouri Southern 73-67 in kills. Missouri Southern had more aces (10-7), blocks (7-2), and digs (92-87).
