Samaritan Hospital in Macon has joined a new statewide collaboration of independent Missouri hospitals, according to a hospital announcement posted Sept. 9.
The Show-Me High Value Network is built around a clinically integrated network. Samaritan said the framework is meant to support quality improvement, care coordination, data sharing, and value-based care. The hospital said it will work with other members on committees focused on quality and value. The Missouri Hospital Association said participating hospitals serve more than 1.8 million people.
CEO Jill Williams said the hospital is focused on delivering the best care for communities in the region. "Joining the Show-Me High Value Network will support our ability to ensure health care is accessible close to home and for the benefit of our patients, providers and community," Williams said. "The network will help Samaritan Hospital work with peer organizations throughout the state, while preserving the quality and local focus that defines our care."
Each hospital remains independent and locally governed, according to the Samaritan announcement. Additional network services are optional.
Samaritan's announcement said the hospital joined 23 other independent Missouri hospitals. The association listed 23 founding members, including Samaritan.
Craig Thompson, chief executive officer of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare in Clinton and chair of the network, said the group is meant to help participants stay independent and community focused.
The association's founding-member list also includes Hannibal Regional Hospital and Scotland County Hospital, among others. More information is at ShowMeHVN.org.
