MoDOT has issued multiple closures across Macon County this week and into early June. Most are short-duration seal coat operations; one bridge project and one major intersection rebuild will run longer. Plan accordingly.
Beginning May 26, contractor crews start a major rebuild at the U.S. 63 interchange and the Bus. 36 / Briggs Drive intersection. Expect this work through October 1, 2026.
The U.S. 36 eastbound and westbound off-ramps at the U.S. 63 interchange will be realigned, with new signals, lighting, and separate left and right turn lanes added at the ramp terminals. A 10-foot lane restriction will be in place where crews are working.
At the U.S. 63 / Bus. 36 / Briggs Drive intersection, one lane in each direction stays open. Right turn lane work runs overnight between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., with flaggers directing traffic. Improvements include signals, lighting, and island work.
Bridge Maintenance — Multi-Day Closure
Route F is fully closed from Dolphin Avenue to Route J over Turkey Creek beginning Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 a.m. through Thursday, June 4 at 9:00 a.m. This is the longest closure on the schedule — find your detour now.

Route J — Route 3 to U.S. Route 63 — 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday, June 1
Route EE — Route 3 to Echo Avenue — 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Route HH — Route 3 to Route J — 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
