Regular gasoline averaged $4.08 a gallon in Macon County on Tuesday, Oct. 13, according to AAA's county price map, about 9 cents above the statewide average of $3.98.

Diesel still costs about $2.65 more a gallon than it did a year ago and about $2 more than regular gasoline.
AAA does not publish county diesel averages.
Diesel users also have a separate break this fall. Under Gov. Mike Kehoe's Executive Order 26-20, signed Oct. 9, state penalties for using untaxed, red-dyed diesel in vehicles on Missouri roads are suspended for any purpose, not just farm hauling, through Dec. 31.
In the Columbia metro area, the nearest one AAA tracks, regular averaged $4.03 and diesel $6.05 on Tuesday.
