Judge Kristen Burks amended Nikolas J. Hulett's bond Monday from $50,000 cash only to $50,000 cash with 10% allowed, according to a Case.net docket entry in Macon County Circuit Court.
Hulett, of Excello, appeared in custody without a lawyer for a bond appearance hearing that had been set for 11 a.m. Monday. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Cody Wells appeared for the state. Burks advised Hulett of his right to remain silent and his right to counsel. He was formally arraigned and pleaded not guilty.
The Bond Reduction Order says the court amended the bond to $50,000 cash with 10% allowed. Hulett is ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim and not to enter onto the alleged victim's property. The case is set for a counsel status review at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 before Burks in Macon.
The Macon Chronicle previously reported that Hulett was charged Sept. 17 in case 26MA-CR00257 with stealing $25,000 or more, a class C felony.
A criminal charge is an accusation. Hulett is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
