City bids. Sealed bids for the city's 1998 fire engine remain open through 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. Bids must be marked "FD Property Bid. Attention: Anastasia Rucker" and delivered to City Hall. The Chronicle previously reported the sale posting.
Utilities. The Macon Board of Public Works met Tuesday. The posted agenda is still online; minutes and a public outcome summary were not posted as of Wednesday morning. The Chronicle previously reported the advance.
Community. Atlanta C-3 PTO's Big Wheels event is set for 6 p.m. Thursday in Atlanta, according to a Sept. 14 community post. Bear Creek Community Land Trust's Fall Harvest Dinner fundraiser runs from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday near La Plata. Separate briefs on both events are ready for print.
City. Minutes from the Sept. 8 regular City Council meeting are still not posted. The meeting page lists the agenda only. The council's next regular meeting is the second Tuesday in October.
City jobs. Street Department laborer, administrative secretary, city administrator, and police openings remain listed as open until filled. The Chronicle previously reported the street laborer posting.
Beach. Long Branch State Park's public swim beach remains closed for the season, according to the Missouri DNR beach dataset (sample dated Aug. 31).
Fuel. AAA's Missouri diesel average was $6.3420 a gallon Wednesday, off Tuesday's record $6.3475. See Tuesday's diesel brief.
Church. Midweek and weekend worship times posted by local congregations include Wednesday 5 p.m. Mass at Sacred Heart in Bevier; Crossroads Christian Church in Macon at 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m. Sundays; Macon United Methodist Church at 8:30 a.m. in the sanctuary, 10 a.m. discipleship groups, and 11 a.m. in the Worship Center; and First Baptist Church in Atlanta at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sundays.
Roads. MoDOT Northeast still lists expect-delays bridge maintenance on U.S. 63 at the U.S. 36 interchange in Macon County. The Chronicle previously reported the work. MoDOT's Sept. 21 to Oct. 2 planned-roadwork list for the Northeast District does not add new Macon County projects.
