Two Macon residents face felony drug charges after arrests on the same day last week, and each has been ordered to have no contact with the other, according to Macon County Circuit Court records.
John F. O’Haver is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, a class E felony, in Case No. 26MA-CR00220. The amended complaint alleges that on or about July 24, 2026, O’Haver knowingly produced marijuana by planting, cultivating and harvesting it.
Brittany Allison Black is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class D misdemeanor, in Case No. 26MA-CR00219. The amended complaint alleges that on or about July 24, 2026, Black possessed methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
A judge set cash-only bonds: $10,000 for O’Haver and $15,000 for Black. In each case, the court barred the defendant from contacting the other.
O’Haver appeared in custody and without an attorney July 27, when he was formally arraigned and pleaded not guilty. The court denied his request to lower his bond, noting he was on probation and had refused a drug test at the time of his arrest. He is scheduled to return Aug. 4 at 10:30 a.m. before Judge Mike Greenwell for a bond review and counsel status hearing.
As of 6:16 p.m. Monday, the probable cause statements supporting the charges were not publicly accessible through Missouri Case.net, the state’s online court records system. Probable cause statements are generally open records in Missouri once a formal charge is filed, and it was not clear whether the documents had been sealed, withheld or simply not yet uploaded.
O’Haver’s felony charge carries one to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, up to a year in county jail, a fine up to $10,000, or a combination. Black’s felony charge carries one to seven years, with the same alternative jail, fine or combined penalties; the paraphernalia count carries a fine up to $500.
Charges are allegations; both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
